A Conversation with Ashok Patre

Terroir, the unique mix of a place’s soil, climate, elevation, and even its flora and fauna, influences how a coffee grows and tastes. At Ratnagiri, that sense of place goes a step further.  

Learn how the team harnesses microbes from the surface of coffee cherries grown at the estate and develops them into ‘terroir’ cultures in an in-house lab. For our fourth Producer Series lot, one such culture was put to work during fermentation. The result is a special cup with layers ranging from rose to forest honey.  

You’ll also get to know how Ratnagiri brings together its microbiology lab, bio-processing unit, climate-controlled drying chamber, and milling facility to explore new possibilities in coffee. 

Guided Coffee Cupping and Pre Release

Taste the new lot alongside a selection of coffees from Ratnagiri Estate and take home the fourth Producer Series before its official release.  

Whether you’re a barista, brewer, roaster or coffee enthusiast, this evening offers a chance to taste one of India’s highest-scoring coffees and uncover its journey.
