Head Training- Café Excellence

Location: Delhi, India

Job Purpose: 

We are looking for a talented, dynamic individual to lead our training department. The role will cover all aspects of training including content creation, training execution, team development, operational monitoring and evaluation and facility management. Since we’re the largest specialty coffee company in the country, this a unique opportunity to play a key role in shaping coffee culture in India.



● Create a strong team to manage a comprehensive training program covering
the cafe team, coffee programs wholesale partners, BOH kitchen team, and
housekeeping staff.
● Lead the creation of training centers in all new cities and upgrade existing
training centres when and as needed
● Proactively give feedback to Ops teams on observations that trainers are
seeing in sessions or on the ground
● Constantly study on the job performance by trainers and baristas through
observation, surveys, customer feedback and internal audits to gauge
effectiveness of training programme and to add to training programme any
weakness in team performance
● Carry out regular Train the Trainer sessions to utilise the best practices in
training principles to run across all our training material and how we
implement trainings
● Create and manage training team’s KPIs as aligned with company’s overall
● Play a leading role in the company’s outward facing efforts by ensuring that
training team is leading coffee education sessions with key customers, and
working closely with the B2B and sales team to deliver support to wholesale

● Build internal staff capabilities by working closely with Ops to create
processes that will see the cafe senior management reiterate trainings to
● Mentor, develop and assess the skills and manage career progression of
training managers, junior trainers and assistant trainers
● Work closely with HR to ensure that all new baristas go through induction
and OJT in their induction programme
● Track measurables on a regularly defined basis to assess training’s effect on
operational effectiveness
● Serve as core member of the senior leadership team and actively participate
in the overall strategic direction of the cafe operations


Desired Qualification:  Bachelors in relevant field

Desired Experience: At least ten years of experience with leading coffee companies and training

Desired Key Skills : 

● Curious and active, the individual needs to stay current with the latest trends in brewing, roasting and café culture
● Demonstrated training experience
● Must be willing to travel
● Must be a team player
