Fundamentals of Coffee - Espresso, Milk and Latte Art

Suitable for both beginners as well as baristas who haven’t been exposed to modern espresso brewing techniques. This class is the foundation for creating a consistent level of quality in each cup of coffee that you brew. 

Espresso: We’ll discuss the importance of a brew recipe, what brew variables are and how to change them to brew tastier coffee. We will also cover grinder adjustments, and how the size of your ground coffee impacts the flavour of your espresso.

Milk: We will also be going over an easily repeatable milk steaming technique to a basic explanation of the coffee menu and how to put together different milk based drinks.  We’ll discuss what milk is made of and why it’s important to have temperature and milk texturing goals. In a country that loves its beverages ‘piping hot’, we’ll also cover the optimum temperatures for milk that bring out the best flavour in your coffee as well as the basics of latte art.
