And just like that, it’s 2022! New Year’s Day is always a big deal but for us it has always been extra special since it marks our birthday, and we just turned 9! Each year, we bring you a Birthday Blend of our favourite coffees from the year gone by, and this time we have a honey processed coffee from Ratnagiri Estate, a natural from Kerehaklu Estate and a washed coffee from M.S. Estate. 

Our roasting team has profiled this limited edition blend to bring out tasting notes of sweet peach, tart plum and sugary marzipan — ideal to celebrate this festive season! The creamy and buttery mouthfeel of this medium-bodied coffee is best enjoyed when brewed as an Espresso, Pour Over or AeroPress. 

We hope this Birthday Blend can serve as a great start to the new year, and we wish you and your loved ones a very happy, healthy and safe year ahead.

Brewing Guides

French Press

20g Coffee Amount
94° C Water Temperature

Brewing Method

  • Add coffee, start timer and pour 230ml making sure all grinds are wet.
  • Add the plunge lid on top to keep temperature stable.
  • After 3 minutes stir the grinds on top lightly (break the crust) and leave to brew for another 2 minutes.
  • At 5 minutes slowly plunge the brew and serve straight away.

Aeropress

Brewing Method

  • Pre wet filter paper: add 19g coffee.
  • Start timer and add 210ml water.
  • After 1 minute stir the brew 4 times and let it steep for another minute.
  • After 2 minutes, screw on the cap and flip the aeropress.
  • Plunge slowly and finish by 2.30minutes.

Pourover

Brewing Method

  • Rinse filter paper with hot water to pre-heat the cone.
  • Add 16g coffee and start the timer.
  • Pour 75ml water and swirl the cone 5 times.
  • After 30 seconds add another 75ml water.
  • After 1 minute add 100ml water (250ml total) and swirl a couple of times again. Let the brew drip down.
