Giddapahar Muscatel Darjeeling Second Flush Tea

Vadham’s  selection of premium loose leaf teas are all from high quality, single tea estates.

Each box contains 100g of loose leaf tea which should brew 50 cups of tea.

Flavour profile: A classic Darjeeling muscatel with delectable flavors of tart drupes and subtle woody notes.

Brewing recipe:  For 1 cup, steep 2 gm (approx 1 tablespoon) of tea for 3-5 minutes in water heated to 90-100 degrees C.

This mellow, light bodied Darjeeling muscatel has a great balance of complex floral, fruity, and fresh flavours. The leaves are medium-sized, tightly-rolled, broken, and russet-colored; interspersed with tips and brown leaf flakes. This infusion features mellow notes of caramel followed by those of toasted almonds. Top notes are of shelled nuts and oak wood with undertones of dried fruit and tobacco.

About the estates:

Giddapahar : The famous Giddapahar Tea Estate is located in the heart of the scenic Kurseong Valley in Darjeeling. A relatively small tea garden, run by the Shaw Family, this estate has a total area of 115 hectares, out of which 94 hectares is under cultivation. The lush, beautiful plantation is situated at a height of 4864 ft. above sea level. The garden grows Chinary, Clonal and Assam, including the premium AV-2 and P-312 varieties of tea bushes. Owing to the low temperatures and the soil type in the location, Giddapahar Tea Estate is known for its flavorful first flush Darjeeling teas which have a heady, invigorating aroma. The quality further peaks in the Second Flush with rich muscatel teas. The garden also produces delectable select batches of green teas in the month of July every year.
